Program proposals will be reviewed during July 2008 and decisions will be made by August 29, 2008.
The SoACE Conference 2008 Program Committee seeks program proposals for the December 7 - 10, 2008, conference at the Contemporary Resort in Walt Disney World at Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Our goal is to offer conference attendees a comprehensive variety of current, topical, innovative and relevant sessions from which to choose. We seek programs that comply with the criteria outlined below.
Proposal Content:
Program Title: Your title should complement the theme of the conference, be descriptive of the workshop, and be no more than 100 characters.
Abstract: Please provide a description of the proposed program. This description will be placed in the Conference Program, and should:
Be no more than 250 words
Include the goal of your presentation
Include up to 3 objectives
Describe the content that will be addressed
Describe the method(s) of presentation
Illustrate the magic that has been created through the formation of SoACE
Offer attendees tangible and practical information and tools they can apply immediately in their workplace
Challenge attendees to think about and consider the trends, threats and opportunities confronting us and our profession now and in the future
Help attendees develop personally and professionally and effectively manage their own career paths
Foster interaction and relationship-building among conference attendees
Format of Program:
There will be two formats for the one (1) hour breakout sessions this year:
Best Practices - similar to a poster presentation - presenter will staff a table in the Exhibitor Room during two separate breakout sessions. This will give the presenter an opportunity to share proven, successful programs or creative and innovative approaches to their organization in the industry.
Professional/Personal Development Presentations - presented twice in two separate breakout sessions -- presentations that center on sharing knowledge or experience in a way that is informative and engaging to participants. Topics may address theory, current research and/or techniques related to the field.
